When the ramps are frozen, be sure to have the proper tools to clear the ice and sweep any debris away. Also, be sure to salt the ramp area before and after you pull your trailer out. Make sure to stop as soon as your trailer clears the water so that all the water drains back into the lake or river and not on the ramp incline or parking area where it can re-freeze and create a hazard for others. Always be sure you will be able to get your boat out before you put it in the water in icy conditions. Never back your vehicle or trailer on to ice such as what is pictured above. 1/4/2002
