This thunderstorm just missed the far end of the lake. Before the lightning got too close, we decided to play it safe and head in to take shelter until the storm was a safe distance away. Besides the fact that lightning can travel great distances, wind can make this lake very dangerous without any warning. Whenever a storm is approaching, it's best to get off the water and take shelter as quickly as possible. Waiting until the last second can be a fatal mistake. 3/20/2003
